Assessment of Safety Production Standardization in Water Supply and Drainage Companies Based on PDCA and AHP
Standardizing workplace safety is the fundamental approach for water supply and drainage companies to establish a long-term mechanism for safety production. To assess the safety production standardization level in water supply and drainage companies, this study constructs an evaluation index system for safety production standardization based on the PDCA(Plan-Do-Check-Act)cycle theory,AHP(analytic hierarchy process),semi-structured interviews, and questionnaire surveys. The study carried out empirical research using a case study of a water utility company in Shenzhen,China. The research results indicate that the constructed evaluation index system could effectively assess water supply and drainage companies'safety production standardization level. The PDCA dynamic cycle management model could promote continuous improvement in safety production standardization for these companies.Strict implementation of safety management measures is crucial in enhancing safety production standardization.Key components to improve safety production standardization in water supply and drainage companies include deepening hazard investigation and control, strengthening control of hazardous operations, enhancing outsourced safety management, increasing safety monitoring efforts, and prioritizing the archiving of safety records.
