弗罗斯特《未走的路》中含有大量的隐喻案例.对该诗的既有研究大多热衷从文学鉴赏角度去分析其蕴藏于平淡话语之下的人生哲理,其对隐喻的分析也存在只论个体不谈整体的现象,且仅局限于某个词的词义引申,尚未关注其词句间形式转变的语法隐喻.该研究拟挖掘诗行背后的多种隐喻手法,从局部到整体,从词汇到语法,更完整地呈现隐喻机制在该诗作中所起到的重要作用.
Abstract
The Road Not Taken,a famous poem by Robert Frost,includes tremendous instances of metaphor among its lines.The preexisting researches do well in discussing the philosophical understandings of life behind the poem's plain discourse of wording.However,their analyses of metaphor are usually confined to certain fragments in isolation and focus exclusively on the semantic expansion of some specific lexical items.The present research intends to dig out as many metaphorical devices as possible in the poem and hence present a full picture of its metaphors both lexically and grammatically.
