It is new positioning and new requirements for Hunan Province in the new era proposed by the President Xi Jinping to build a national major advanced manufacturing highland in the country.Deeply understanding the connotation and characteristics of the national major advanced manufacturing highland and designing its construction path are the basic premise for Hunan Province to draw a long-term blueprint for the development of manufacturing industry and formulate manufacturing industry policies.The research shows that the core mission of the national important advanced manufacturing highland is to become a strategic place of advanced manufacturing with international competitiveness,international influence and development driving force.It has six characteristics including world-class advanced manufacturing cluster,world-advanced core technology and innovation capability,green and intensive development mode,industrial ecological advantages,open and inclusive development environment,and demonstration and leading role.On this basis,the construction path of the major highland of national advanced manufacturing industry is designed from five aspects:building a world-class advanced manufacturing cluster,promoting the demonstration and leading of advanced manufacturing paradigm,promoting the innovation of advanced manufacturing technology,strengthening the talent gathering of advanced manufacturing,and enhancing the vitality of open cooperation in advanced manufacturing.
