The Development Path of Digital Transformation in Megacities:A Case Study of Chengdu,Sichuan Province
[Research purpose]According to the seventh national population census data released by the National Bureau of Statistics,Chengdu has officially been promoted to a mega city in China, with a permanent population exceeding 20 million.Mega cities have a huge total population, highly concentrated urban population, continuous population growth and inflow. The scope and size of it are constantly expanding, which brings huge pressure on urban infrastructure, public services, and emergency management, and also brings huge challenges to urban governance.Traditional governance methods are no longer able to adapt to the rapid economic and social development needs of mega cities.City digital transformation is a new urban development paradigm that aims to drive the high-quality development of the economy and society, using technological innovation and application as a means, and relying on the optimization of mechanisms and systems as a guarantee, ultimately enhancing the city's comprehensive competitiveness for the future, and it is an important way to promote the modernization of mega city governance in the new era.[Research method]By comprehensively analyzing the logical mechanism of digital transformation in mega cities and interpreting the current situation of digital transformation in Chengdu,it has found that there are problems in the process of digital transformation in mega cities for chengdu, such as low level of data sharing and openness, urgent need to improve data fusion, insufficient application scenarios, and relative shortage of composite talents.[Research conclusion]By benchmarking against first mover cities such as Shanghai and Hangzhou,it is proposed that Chengdu should promote the digital transformation of mega cities from four aspects:cultivating data-driven thinking, constructing a data element application system, strengthening the application of digital infrastructure, and innovating a mechanism for attracting composite talents,so as to comprehensively enhance the support for the digital transformation of mega cities.
