Different value demands exist among the communities,the parties and the courts in the trials open to the public,and their conflicts await to be resolved.Trials open to the public are also believed to be a right of the media and the public,which helps to satisfy their right to know,thus realizing the right to freedom of speech and supervision,and improving the judicial credibility.China should effectively balance the hearing rights between all social subjects,give priority to ensuring the hearing rights of the media and relatives of all par-ties concerned,and mainly allocate side hearings in a randomly-chosen way.In addition,the public and the media should be given the right to relief when there are undue restrictions and deprivation by the courts in trials open to the public.
