The integration of ideological and political education in universities with the latest artificial intel-ligence technology for transformation and adaptation is an important way for them to actively respond to the na-tional strategy of cultivating top innovative talents independently.ChatGPT has inherent compatibility with ideo-logical and political education in universities in terms of functional utilization,technological development,and value creation.ChatGPT sparticipation in ideological and political education in universities should pursue the goals of digital integration of ideological and political education content,digital transformation of ideological and political education elements in universities,and digital transformation of ideological and political education meth-ods in universities.At the same time,attention should also be paid to the risks and challenges it brings about.In practice,we can innovate the cognitive paradigm of ideological and political education in universities,adhere to the humanistic care of ideological and political education in universities,clarify the technical boundaries of i-deological and political education in universities,respond to the urgent requirements and risk challenges of the transformation and development of ideological and political education in universities under the empowerment of ChatGPT,thus improving the effectiveness of ideological and political education in universities in the new era.
