Retrospect and Prospect:A Review of Research on the Special Challenges Facing a Large Party Like the CPC
As an important defining concept of the theory of political parties with Chinese characteristics,the special challenges facing the CPC,the largest Marxist governing party in the world,has been widely dis-cussed and concerned by the academic circles.Since the 20th National Congress of the CPC,the research has mainly focused on the connotation direction,formation reasons,generation logic,value implication and solution approach of the special challenges facing the large Party like the CPC,and profoundly answered such basic questions as"What are the special challenges facing the CPC as a large party?""why should we tackle them?"and"how can we tackle them?",laying a solid theoretical foundation for subsequent research.However,be-cause this political proposition was put forward not long ago,such research limitations can still be found in the research,such as high homogeneity of research content,limited research ideas and perspectives,and insuffi-cient innovation of research methodology.Therefore,in the future research,the academic community can fur-ther promote the research on the special challenges facing the CPC as a large party from the aspects of deepening research content,broadening research ideas and perspectives,and innovating research methods,so as to pro-vide important theoretical reference and direction guidance for forging a long-term Marxist governing party and constantly create a new realm of self-supervision and self-governance of the Party.
