"Generative AI empowering Ideological and Political Education"is an inevitable trend in the conver-gence of technology and academia.Through the"technology-education"embedding logic,generative AI significant-ly advances the development of precise ideological education,intelligent ideological education,and curriculum-based ideological education in higher education.It enhances the effectiveness of digital ideological education,situa-tional ideological education,and cloud-based ideological education,showcasing the multiple opportunities of intelli-gent technology to improve the quality and efficiency of ideological and political education in universities.However,this integration presents a series of challenges in terms of subjectivity,value,emotion,and security that cannot be ignored.It is imperative to fully leverage the role of human subjects by adhering to the fundamental task of moral ed-ucation,clarify the boundaries of generative AI's involvement in ideological and political education in higher educa-tion,base efforts on the actual scenarios of ideological and political education in universities,strengthen social prac-tice of students,and innovate the discourse system of ideological and political education to genuinely safeguard the security of university ideology to effectively respond to the challenges.
