University Teachers'Misconduct of Academic Power:Performance,Causes and Regulations
Academic power is a basic form of power within universities and colleges.Its regulated operation has a significant impact on creating a favorable academic atmosphere,enhancing the cohesion of the academic community,and fostering the spirit of the university.University teachers'misconduct in academic power is mainly manifested in two aspects:misconduct of teaching power and misconduct of scientific research power.Misconduct of teaching power is manifested in the arbitrary selection of teaching content,the monotonous selection of teaching methods,the evaluation of teaching objects for self-interest;misconduct of scientific research power is reflected in the false declaration of scientific research projects,the relational publication of research results,and the use of research funds for self-profit.The causes mainly lie in the weak sense of responsibility and the disorientation of values of university teachers,and the alienation of academic evaluation standards and the weak supervision mech-anism.The regulation of academic power should start with arousing academic conscience,strengthening academic responsibility as a link,and reshaping academic values as the ultimate goal.At the same time,the institutional regulation of academic power can be realized by refining the academic evaluation and assessment system,strength-ening its hierarchical constraints,and improving its monitoring and punishment mechanism.
