The Impact of Industrial Internet Platform Application on Enterprise Performance
As an industrial cloud platform that supports the ubiquitous connection,elastic supply and efficient allo-cation of manufacturing resources,the industrial Internet platform is of great significance for manufacturing enterpri-ses to achieve high-quality development.Based on the samples of Chinese manufacturing companies listed on the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges from 2007 to 2021,the study examines the impact and mechanisms of in-dustrial internet platform applications on firm performance from a knowledge management perspective.The research indicates that the application of industrial internet platforms can improve the performance of manufacturing enterpri-ses.Mechanism analysis suggests that the improvement in firm performance through industrial internet platform ap-plications is primarily achieved through three channels:alleviating information asymmetry,promoting knowledge sharing,and enhancing the quality of innovation.These conclusions hold true even after considering endogeneity is-sues and conducting a series of robustness tests.Heterogeneity analysis further indicates that compared with enter-prises in regulated industries,small and medium-sized enterprises and non-state-owned enterprises,large-scale manufacturing enterprises and state-owned enterprises in competitive industries have a more obvious impact on enterprise performance by applying industrial Internet platforms.The research clarifies value creation path of in-dustrial Internet platform application,and provides relevant suggestions for improving enterprise performance.
