Microstructure and Corrosion Properties of Al-5.0Mg-2.2Si-0.6Mn-xLa Alloy
The effects of rare earth La mass percentage content(0%,0.05%,0.10%,0.20%,0.40%,0.60%)on the microstructure and corrosion properties of Al-5.0Mg-2.2Si-0.6Mn alloy were studied. The experimental results show that adding La element can significantly affect the alloy's microstructure. With the in-crease of La element, the secondary dendrite arm spacing of the alloy increases first and then decreases.La ele-ment can improve the corrosion resistance of the alloy. With the increase of La element content in the alloy, the corrosion resistance of the alloy increases first and then decreases. When the mass percentage content of La ele-ment is 0.20%,the alloy has the best corrosion resistance. The corrosion rate of the alloy with different amounts of La under different corrosion times presents the same change rule, and the corrosion rate is as follows from large to small:0 La>0.60 La>0.05 La/0.40 La>0.10 La>0.20 La(mass percentage,%).When La element is added too much, the coarse brittle rare earth phase formed in the alloy seriously reduces the corrosion resistance of the alloy.
