The role of Porphyromonas gingivalis in the progression of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease
Porphyromonas gingivalis(P.gingivalis),a key pathogen of periodontitis, not only harms oral health, but also has an im-portant relationship with the development of many extraoral diseases, such as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.P.gingivalis and its products can promote the development of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease through hematogenous and intestinal pathways. In this paper, the pathway and possible internal mechanisms involved are briefly described.
