An experimental study on flotation of lithium-bearing bauxite ore in Yunnan Province
The contents of Al2O3,SiO2,K2O,Fe2O3,and Li2O in lithium-aluminum-bearing claystone(LABC)in Yunnan Province are 48.36%,28.53%,10.11%,2.53%,and 0.75%,respectively.The LABC has Al/Si ratio of 1.70 and has a high comprehensive utilization value.Through the laboratory flotation closed-circuit process, involving one rougher step, three cleaner steps, and two scavenger steps,a bauxite concentrate with a yield of25.70%has been obtained. The concentrate has Al2O3 and SiO2 contents of 70.96%and 7.11%,respectively,with an Al/Si ratio of 9.98.Meanwhile,a lithium-rich product with a yield of 74.30%has been obtained. It contains 0.92%of Li2O,and can be served as a raw material for lithium extraction. This processing technique can be used to achieve the enrichment of bauxite and lithium minerals from the LABC.It provides an essential reference for the comprehensive utilization of such resources.
