Experimental Study on Properties and Beneficiation Process of Ores from a Silver Deposit in Zhejiang Province
In order to ascertain the ore properties of a silver mine in Zhejiang Province,a systematic study has been conducted on mineral compositions of the ore,the occurrence state of silver, distribution characteristics and particle sizes of silver minerals,by using analytical techniques including polarized microscopy, chemical phase analysis, scanning electron microscopy,X-ray energy spectroscopy, and MLA analysis. Then mineralogical factors affecting silver beneficiation have also been analyzed. The results show that the ore has Ag grade of 145 g/t,and main silver-bearing minerals of freibergite and boumonite.Freibergite is distributed in forms of scattered and disseminated euhedral and semi-euhedral particles in gangue minerals, and it is closely associated with the gangue minerals with various particle sizes.Bournonite is widely distributed, and is closely intergrowing with pyrite and calcite, with fine particle size which is the main factor resulted in the difficult improvement of its beneficiation index. The closed circuit test of mineral processing obtained a concentrate with a silver content of 1461.00 g/t and a silver recovery rate of 58.74%.This has further verified the research results of ore properties.
