Identification of Au geochemical anomalies in the Wulonggou area of Qinghai Province based on the W-N multifractal model
The Wulonggou area is located in the eastern part of the East Kunlun orogenic belt.Due to the complex geological evolution process,it has an extremely complex geochemical background. Thus,it is very difficult to accurately extract geochemical anomalies by using a unified lower limit of anomalies. In this study, based on 1:50 000 stream sediment geochemical data, the W-N multifractal model and factor analysis were used to extract geochemical anomalies related to gold mineralization in the study area, and then the results were compared with the ones obtained by using the traditional S-A multifractal model. The results show that the element combination of the third factor(F3)obtained by using the factor analysis is Au-As-Sb which represents the element combination related to the gold mineralization in the study area. The W-N model can suppress the interference of the complex background in the study area and strengthen some weak anomalies.Compared with the S-A model, the anomalies obtained through the processing of same geochemical data by using the W-N model are more consistently fit with locations of gold deposits in the study area, providing favorable information for geological prospecting work.
