"The Semi-Phenomenological Motivation"in Merleau-Ponty's Early Philosophical Thought
For the sake of the issues within philosophy of perception, there exist semi-phenomenological motiva-tions in Merleau-Ponty's early philosophical thought. His initial philosophical logic within the tensions among body-mind problem, philosophy of perception and Gestalt psychology can be revealed more profoundly in The Structure of Behavior and relevant early texts instead of Phenomenology of Perception.Phenomenological factors play an"Instrumentalism"role at this stage. The potential connection between Merleau-Ponty's original interest of philosophy of perception and the methodology of phenomenology promotes his transition to"phenomenology of per-ception".During this process,Merleau-Ponty with a strong sense of problem reconsiders the traditional"mind-body"problem through the strategy"phenomenologization of Nature"and tries to locate the crux of phenomenology-naturalism debate.
