Open Science,Platform Capitalism,and Post-Truth——From the Perspective of Scientific Misconduct of Room-Temperature Superconductor
The"room-temperature superconductor's scientific misconduct"exposes some of the post-truth chal-lenges faced by"open science"associated with platform capitalism.From the STS perspective,with the interven-tion of platform capitalism in open science,"flow"has become the evaluation standard of knowledge value,thus endowing knowledge with more characteristics of"competing for fame and profit in public",in which,the heat of social media takes the place of truth,and emotional appeals and subjective beliefs are often more influential than factual evidence.From a micro-epistemological point of view,incompetent experts compete for flow on social plat-forms through"antiepistemic strategy of ignorance",with the aim of advancing academically and profiting economi-cally,thus eroding social trust in science.With the help of"bullshit cognitive malice",laymen draw support from various"trending topics lists"to realize their dreams of scientific stars,leading to the proliferation of pseudoscience and tearing apart science and society.
