Efficient and rapid treatment of mine drainage with high suspended solids is the key to utilize and protect coal resources in western provinces,China.However,few systematic studies on the effect of suspended matter characteristics on coagulation treatment of high suspended mine drainage.Therefore,the typical high suspended mine water in Xiaobaodang Coal mine was selected to analyze the effect of particle size,coal-rock ratio,and suspended solids loadings on the efficiency of high suspended matter mine water treated by loading coagulation with sand.Generally,the removal efficiency and velocity of coagulation increase significantly with the particle size of suspended solids in mine water,but when the particle size of suspended solids was less than 0.075 mm,the removal efficiency and velocity decreased significantly.The suspended solids loadings were more than 10 000 NTU and less than 500 NTU,which reduced the coagulation removal efficiency and velocity.The higher the mass content of coal in mine water,the lower the removal efficiency of coagulation.The results can effectively improve the operation technology of the sand loading coagulation,relieve the contradiction of water shortage,and develop coal industry and ecological civilization construction in western mining area.
