Effect of Temperature and pH on the Sedimentation of Bauxite Sludge
In order to study the influencing factors and mechanism of the sedimentation of bauxite tailings slurry, the free sedimentation experiments of bauxite slurry in Pingguo were explained at different temperatures(15,30,45,60 ℃)and pH.The height of supernatant and the settling velocity at different time during the settling process of slime were analyzed. The results show that in the temperature range from 15 ℃ to 60 ℃,the sedimentation velocity in the uniform sedimentation stage is increased by 0.385 mm/min when the temperature of 7%sludge is increased by 10 ℃,and 0.132 mm/min when the temperature of 10%sludge is increased by 10 ℃.The sedimentation velocity in the uniform sedimentation stage is increased by 0.132 mm/min when the temperature of 7%sludge is increased by 10 ℃.The settling velocity and settling time of slime are affected by pH.In the range of pH from 4.7 to 8,the settling velocity increases with the pH when pH value is lower than 7.6.The settling velocity is faster when pH is 7.1~7.6,and the fastest is 7.27 mm/min.When pH is higher than 7.6,the settling velocity tends to decrease. The research results provide experimental and theoretical basis for improving the sedimentation technology,as well as the reference for the sedimentation research of other ore slurry.
