Numerical Simulation on the Material Selection of the Explosion-Proof Body for a Tandem Warhead
The tandem warhead penetrates the explosive reaction armor and the main armor of the tank with the detonation of the front and rear warheads.In order to prevent the destruction of the rear warhead when the front warhead explodes,it is necessary to set up an explosion-proof body between the front and the rear warheads.The explosion-proof effect of the explosion-proof body is affected by the dis-tance from the front stage,material,structure and so on.The explosion-proof effect of the explosion-proof body with different materials was researched,the finite element analysis software LS-DYNA was used to establish the numerical simulation model of series warhead and explosion-proof body,the effect law of explosion-proof material on explosion-proof effect was obtained.The results show that low imped-ance materials such as polyurethane can not meet the strength requirements.For high impedance materials,the higher impedance is,the lower the thickness is.The combination of high and low impedance matching materials can greatly reduce the quality of explosion-proof materials,among which the combination of carbon fiber composite and PMMA has the most significant ability to reduce the quality of ex-plosion-proof body.This study can provide guidance for material selection and design of the explosion-proof body for the tandem warhead.
