Spatio-temporal Differentiation and Influencing Factors of Traditional Villages in Jiangxi from a Multidimensional Perspective
Traditional villages are the dynamic carriers of China's excellent traditional culture, serving as the"museums"and"living fossils"of folk culture. The spatio-temporal differentiation and influencing factors of traditional villages in Jiangxi Province were examined through the application of various analytical techniques, including kernel density analysis,nearest-neighbor index, coefficient of variation, spatial autocorrelation, and standard deviation ellipse. This comprehensive investigation was conducted using a dataset comprising 343 traditional villages in Jiangxi Province. The results show that traditional villages in Jiangxi Province display a migratory trend from northeast to southwest in their historical distribution range, accompany by an initial contraction followed by expansion in the east-west direction. This spatial pattern is indicative of an initial clustering and subsequent diffusion distribution characteristic.the distribution density of traditional villages in Jiangxi Province presents a spatial layout pattern of"dense in the north, moderate in the middle and sparse in the south",thereby forming an overall"tri-core"distribution model.Regarding the influencing factors, the majority of traditional villages in Jiangxi Province are predominantly located in regions characterized by low elevation, gentle slopes, proximity to water sources, and relatively sluggish economic development. The research results can provide a decision-making basis for the formulation of policies and planning for the conservation and development of traditional villages in Jiangxi Province.Furthermore,it can serve as a theoretical and methodological reference for further research on related traditional villages.
