Exploration of the Development Path of Shanghai Children's Museums:Based on the Curatorial Research of Domestic Children's Museums
Shanghai Children's Museum was opened in 1996,making it the first children's museum in China.Faced with the increasing diverse needs of families in the new era,it is planned to launch the third overall upgrade.Compared to the main constraints and challenges of development,it includes four aspects:the location advantage still needs to be effectively released, the low utilization rate of library space, and the need for scientific decision-making in library area planning. The research group of the Shanghai Children's Museum conducted research on the exhibition space, curatorial concepts, exhibition technology, interactive methods, operation and maintenance conditions, and visitor experience of classic children's museums and interactive venues both domestically and internationally. They summarized eight reference experiences, including the design of exhibition space that should comply with current museum building design standards and the high-quality development needs of museums. And propose three transformation suggestions, including the overall planning and design,to further accelerate the integrity construction of Soong Chingling Cemetery.
