面向"双碳"目标的能源转化利用领域前沿交叉战略研究

A strategic study of interdisciplinary frontier in the field of energy conversion and utilization for the"dual carbon"goals
In China,energy combustion contributes to around 85%of the total carbon dioxide emissions.The reduction of carbon emission through improving efficiency of energy conversion and utilization is crucial for China to meet the"dual carbon"goals.The focus in China on achieving"dual carbon"goals is propelling innovations in science and technology to reduce carbon emissions,accelerating rapid advancements in effective low-carbon energy transformation and utilization methods.The"dual carbon"goals of China will promote a revolution in technological development modes,redirect the focus of technological progress,introduce innovative energy conversion and utilization methods,and spark interdisciplinary advancements.Besides the disciplines of engineering thermophysics and energy utilization,electrical science and engineering,materials and mechanical engineering,the realization of effective low-carbon energy transformation and utilization methods is also connected to chemistry,earth sciences,information technology,and other disciplines.In the presence of challenges,there will also be a cascade of new opportunities resulting from state-of-the-art interdisciplinary scientific principles and technological inventions in the development of energy conversion and utilization methods.In this paper,six state-of-the-art directions of energy conversion and utilization are proposed:(1)Low-carbon conversion and utilization of fossil energy,(2)efficient conversion and utilization of renewable energy,(3)green hydrogen/green electricity and long-term energy storage,(4)multi-energy complementarity and energy internet,(5)terminal efficient and low-carbon energy utilization,(6)energy conversion and utilization with digital and intelligence technology.In addition,the corresponding key scientific issues are raised in the disciplines of engineering thermophysics and energy utilization.On this basis,the latest progress in promoting energy transformation and low-carbon development is discussed.Moreover,policy suggestions are put forward in view of existing challenges and future opportunities,including:(1)Paying attention to revolutionary energy technologies and the new quality productive forces in energy technologies,(2)focusing on regional coordination and overall planning,promoting the steady development of renewable energy in an orderly manner,(3)based on the"dual circulation"development pattern,promoting the energy cooperation in the belt and road initiative,(4)realizing the intelligence and informatization of energy systems and accelerating the construction of smart energy systems,(5)propelling integration of industry,university,research,application side and business to promote the development of revolutionary energy technologies,and(6)strengthening interdisciplinary research in cutting-edge directions to achieve high-level self-reliance in energy science and technology.Thus,for achieving the"dual carbon"goals,this paper provides important scientific and technological support for establishing a carbon neutral system of energy transformation and utilization science and technology,which integrates low-carbon/zero-carbon electric energy sources,non-electric energy sources,digital and intelligent technologies.
