Accelerator Support and the Improvement of Entrepreneurial Niche of Gazelle Enterprises:A Regulated Intermediary Model
From the perspective of organizational ecology,the growth of enterprises is actually an evolutionary pro-cess from one state of nature to another state of nature,and the creation,growth and death of entrepreneurial enterprises have been regarded as typical research issues of organizational ecology.According to relevant data,as of the end of 2022,there were over 500000 technology-based entrepreneurial enterprises in China,of which less than 20000 were gazelle en-terprises.Accelerator,as a representative incubator mainly targeting gazelle enterprises,has gradually become a hot topic of attention for domestic and foreign scholars in recent years.However,there is relatively little research on high-growth entrepreneurial enterprises entering incubators.Therefore,based on the related theory of"ecological niche",the theoretical mechanism of ecological niche improvement of entrepreneurial enterprises is introduced,and the relationship between gas pedal support and the improvement of entrepreneurial ecological niche of gazelle enterprises,opportunity and resource in-tegration is explored by combining with the incubation characteristics of gazelle enterprises in the accelerated growth stage.At the same time,environmental dynamics is further introduced as a moderating variable to provide a theoretical ba-sis for how gazelle firms can utilize gas pedal support to rapidly take advantage of the ecological niche at the acceleration stage during the growth process of entrepreneurial firms.Empirical analysis is mainly used to test theoretical hypotheses.Firstly,a small-scale distribution of the pre test ques-tionnaire is conducted to evaluate the objectivity and comprehensiveness of the collected data,including analysis of the re-liability and validity of the pre test questionnaire.Combined with empirical analysis of the pre test questionnaire,the ques-tionnaire items are further optimized to form a formal survey questionnaire.The questionnaire survey mainly relies on the general project of the national natural science foundation of China and relevant provincial fund projects in Shaanxi prov-ince.A total of 400 questionnaires were distributed in this survey,and 328 questionnaires were collected.After excluding invalid questionnaires,a total of 292 valid questionnaires were obtained.Through empirical testing,it was found that there is a significant inverted U-shaped relationship between accelerator support and opportunity utilization,and there is a significant positive impact on resource allocation;The resource alloca-tion and opportunity utilization in the integration of opportunity and resources have a significant positive effect on the im-provement of entrepreneurial ecological niche of gazelle enterprises;Accelerator support not only has a significant invert-ed U-shaped impact on the growth of entrepreneurial ecological niche of gazelle enterprises directly,but also indirectly af-fects the growth of entrepreneurial ecological niche of gazelle enterprises through resource allocation and opportunity utili-zation;Meanwhile,environmental dynamics have a negative moderating effect on the indirect impact of opportunity utili-zation.The research conclusions shows that:(1)Accelerator support not only has an inverted U-shaped impact on the im-provement of entrepreneurial ecological niche of gazelle enterprises directly,but also strengthens the inverted U-shaped impact through opportunity utilization.Although the accelerator can provide diversified resource support for the upgrading of entrepreneurial ecological niche of gazelle enterprises,the limited resource support of the accelerator can not meet all gazelle enterprises that are incubated at the same time.The excessive dependence of gazelle enterprises on the resources provided by the accelerator support will easily lead to problems such as resource redundancy,information stagnation,and decline in market responsiveness.At the same time,the ability to take advantage of opportunities will change rapidly with the changes in the external market.Excessive accelerator support will increase the centrifugal force of gazelle enterprises,hinder the interaction between gazelle enterprises and external network members,and cause gazelle enterprises to gradually reduce their sensitivity to market opportunities.(2)In the integration of opportunity and resources,both resource allocation and opportunity utilization can positively affect the improvement of gazelle enterprises'ecological niche entrepreneurship ecological niche.The development capability of integration of opportunity and resources will promote the use of resources provided by the accelerator by gazelle enterprises in the high-speed development stage,help gazelle enterprises identify,de-velop and use limited resources efficiently with the technical support and commercial operation support of the accelerator,further use more external exchange settlement,catalyze the differentiated development of gazelle enterprises and competi-tors,improve the breadth and suitability of ecological niche,reduce the overlap of ecological niche,and finally realize the improvement of ecological niche.(3)Accelerator support receives negative regulation of environmental dynamics through the mesomeric effect of opportunity utilization on the ecological niche improvement of gazelle enterprises.Compared to the utilization of opportunities,resource allocation is often more static,and the resources provided by accelerator technolo-gy support and commercial operation support are easier to allocate.However,the external market environment is complex and volatile,making it more difficult to make reasonable use of external market opportunities.Especially in the context of high intensity environmental dynamics,it is not only difficult to control the direction of market demand changes and the speed of technology updates by oneself,it is more difficult to overcome the limitations of the accelerator's"bounded ratio-nality",so that environmental dynamics negatively regulate the intermediary role of opportunity utilization.
