Knowledge Oriented IT Capability,Digital Innovation Search and Enterprise Transformation Performance
As the digital economy enables high-quality development,the strategic value of digital transformation for en-terprises continues to increase.At present,many enterprises have started digital innovation in the process of transformation.Digital innovation requires enterprises to constantly discover the source of innovation.Among many influencing factors,in-formation technology(IT)capability is regarded as one of the most important factors enabling search.Knowledge oriented IT capability is an enterprise's ability to allocate knowledge and other resources supported by information technology,which is a key component of enterprise's IT capability.Digital innovation search is an activity in which enterprises scan,discover and locate resources needed for digital innovation across organizational boundaries in the process of digital innovation.How knowledge oriented IT capability and digital innovation search affect enterprise transformation performance has become one of the frontier issues in the field of innovation.Knowledge oriented IT capability helps enterprises to discover new resourc-es.As an important capital of enterprises in the era of digital economy,knowledge oriented IT capability will provide strong support for enterprises'digital innovation if it can promote digital innovation search.However,there are few researches on the influence of knowledge oriented IT capability on digital innovation search in the context of digital transformation.Exter-nal networks have become one of the key paths for enterprises to find innovative resources in the digital economy.The influ-ence of knowledge oriented IT capability on digital innovation search may be closely related to the network relationship.Therefore,how to rely on knowledge oriented IT capability to carry out digital innovation search under the adjustment of net-work relationship has become an urgent problem to be solved for enterprises committed to digital transformation.Based on the resource view,this paper puts knowledge oriented IT capability,network relationship,digital innovation search and enterprise transformation performance into the same research framework,and builds a capability-behavior-perfor-mance conceptual model.At the same time,the research explores the influence mechanism of knowledge oriented IT capabil-ity and digital innovation search on transformation performance,and reveals the regulation rule of network relationship.In this research,ten hypotheses are proposed based on three groups of relationships.They're the relationship of knowledge ori-ented IT capability and digital innovation search,digital innovation search and transformation performance,and the moderat-ing effect of network relations.In this study,data from 226 enterprises were used to conduct empirical tests.The research samples were from enterprises in Heilongjiang,Guangzhou,Beijing,Zhejiang,Shanghai,Guangxi and other provinces and cities.Sample data were obtained through on-site distribution and E-mail questionnaire survey.To ensure the reliability of the survey data,the questionnaire is filled out by corporate executives or corporate related professionals who are familiar with the enterprise's knowledge oriented IT capabilities and digital innovation search status.In this study,SPSS and AMOS were used to test reliability and validity,CFA analysis,non-response bias,etc.,then all hypotheses were tested by multiple linear regression,and most of them were verified.The results show:digitized knowledge reach positively affects reactive search and prospective search,digitized knowl-edge richness positively affects prospective search.Both reactive search and prospective search positively influence on trans-formation performance.The network relationship positively moderates the relationship between digitized knowledge reach and reactive search,the relationship between digitized knowledge reach and prospective search,the relationship between dig-itized knowledge richness and prospective search.In addition,the endogeneity of variables is discussed in this paper,and the regression results verify that reverse causality and missing variables do not affect the conclusion of this study.Robustness test shows that the regression results of this study have a certain stability.
