SPECIES COMPOSITION OF MACROFAUNA AND WATER ENVRIONMENT ASSESSMENT OF WATER AREA AROUND SHEWUSHAN GOLD MINE
Shewushan gold mine has been exploited for more than 30 years,and the mining activities have caused certain pollution to the surrounding water area.Aimed at the judgement of the water environmental quality around the mine,this paper investigated species composition and species diversity of macrofauna,and evaluated the water quality based on the diversity indexes.The results showed that 12 macrofauna species were identified totally,and the dominant species were mollusks.Both the Shannon-Weaver index and the Simpson index of macrofauna were lesser than 3.The water envrionment quality was slightly or middlely polluted assessed using the indexes,and it showed a good trend along the waterway.
