Experimental study on low alkalinity copper sulfur separation flotation of a copper mine in Inner Mongolia
A copper ore dressing plant in Inner Mongolia currently uses a copper rapid flotation+copper sulfur mixed flotation separation process,with a lime high alkali process to recover copper and sulfur,resulting in low copper and sulfur recovery rates.Using BK506 as a substitute for lime as a pyrite inhibitor and BK305 as a copper collector,a low alkalinity copper sulfur separation experiment was conducted under the condition of a slurry pH value of 9.9(the original high alkali process slurry pH value was 12).The results showed that the low alkali process index was better than the high alkali process index.The low alkali process closed circuit test can obtain copper concentrate with a grade of 22.59%and a recovery rate of 84.17%,as well as sulfur concentrate with a grade of 41.03%and a recovery rate of 80.78%,The copper sulfur separation effect is good.Compared with the high alkali process,the low alkali process can increase the recovery rate of copper concentrate by 0.91 percentage points;The recovery rate of sulfur concentrate can be increased by 2.96 percentage points,while reducing the amount of lime and eliminating the sulfuric acid activation operation before sulfur flotation.The industrial application prospects are promising.
