Research progress of heavy metal removal technology in iron tailings
China's iron and steel industry has achieved rapid development. While producing a large amount of steel and greatly promoting the national economic construction,it has also produced massive iron tailings, which reached 839 million tons in 2013.A large accumulation of tailings will occupy land resources, and the heavy metals such as Pb,Cu,Cd and Zn have potential risks to the environment, but tailings also have considerable reuse value.Improving the utilization efficiency of tailings is of great significance for promoting the development of circular economy and promoting the process of two-carbon.This paper summarizes the current situation of tailings resources and the common methods of heavy metal removal in China, and mainly introduces the principle and removal effect of supercritical CO2 treatment technology,in order to provide guidance for the efficient removal of heavy metals in iron tailings.
