Optimization study of the ventilation system for ultra-deep multi-level simultaneous mining based on Ventsim
The Mine ventilation system, integrated with underground operating points, has a global impact on the ventilation safety of the entire mine.Optimizing the mine ventilation system has long been a significant challenge in deep underground mining. In a large underground ultra-deep mining copper mine, issues such as short ore body strikes, large dip angles, and dispersed working faces due to simultaneous multi-level mining have led to a complex ventilation system. The three-dimensional ventilation system simulation model of the mine was established by using Ventsim software.Based on the air demand of the mine, the optimization scheme of the ventilation system in the third, fourth and fifth mining areas is proposed. The simultaneous mining conditions of the nine most ventilation-challenged sections between-300 m and-700 m were simulated, and the ventilation system network was analyzed. The results show that the total air volume under the most unfavourable ventilation conditions of the mine is 405.3 m3/s,which meets the calculated air requirement of 395.5 m3/s for the mine. The research results have significant reference value for the safe and efficient production of the mine and for improving the economic benefits of the mine.
