Exploration of a new rapid branch flotation process for copper sulfide
Focusing on the Dapingzhang copper mine in Simao,Yunnan, this study addresses the issues of high reagent consumption, high energy consumption, and unsatisfactory flotation indicators in the copper-sulfur flotation separation process by adopting the branch flotation method.Based on the mineralogical analysis of the ore,a comparative study was conducted on the flotation effects of single-branch flotation and multi-branch flotation processes, focusing on the flotation effects of the combined"rapid-branch"flotation process. The results indicate that the Dapingzhang copper mine in Yunnan is a sulfide copper mine, where the target mineral chalcopyrite has a coarser particle size and is closely coexisting and connected with pyrite. When the grinding fineness is-0.074 mm with 70%passing,most of the chalcopyrite minerals are liberated, meeting the requirements of the copper ore selection process. With obvious technical advantages, the multi-branch flotation process can effectively improve the concentrate grade.The"rapid-branch"combined flotation new process has the best technical indicators, achieving efficient recovery and"quality improvement and consumption reduction"for the Dapingzhang sulfide copper mine.Compared with the conventional single-branch flotation process indicators,the"rapid-branch"flotation new process can significantly reduce the dosage of composite yellow medicine and foaming agent DEP while ensuring a stable copper recovery rate. The dosage of both can be reduced by about 12%and 31%,respectively.At this time, the copper grade has increased by 1.45 percentage points. In terms of comprehensive recovery of precious metals, the new process also significantly improves the recovery of gold and silver, with gold and silver grades increasing by 0.18%and 9.40%,respectively,and recovery rates rising for 3.01%and 13.97%,respectively.
