Rapid flotation recovery of lead from lead-zinc ore without lime branching
The lead sulfide minerals in the Panlong lead-zinc mine in Guangxi are overall considered fine in particle size distribution with a high secondary mud content. The lead recovery rate in the lead concentrate produced by the traditional high alkali chemical system is much lower than the theoretical recovery rate of lead sulfide, resulting in substantial lead losses in the zinc tailings. The chemical composition, phase, and sieve analyses were carried out on the raw ore and tailings. The lead flotation kinetics and closed-loop test under both high alkali and lime-free flotation systems were carried out as well. The results indicate that some of the lost lead minerals in the lead tailings contain single galena particles below 19 μm.The use of branch rapid sorting technology for flotation experiments of Panlong lead-zinc ore can optimize the beneficiation indicators of Panlong lead-zinc ore and reduce the loss of fine-grained galena minerals.Compared to the original high-alkali flotation system, the lead recovery rate in the lead concentrate obtained by the lime-free flotation system can be increased by 8.07 percent. Moreover, the loss rate of lead metal particles below-19 μm is reduced by 28.57 percent. The branch rapid flotation process can effectively enhance the flotation recovery rate of fine-grained galena.
