"修己以安人"之我见

摘要
"修己以安人"一般被用以概括儒家学说之精神主旨,但是历代注家对此文章眼目注解各异,反而使儒家学说之精神主旨闇而不彰.深入探究《论语》文本,可知"修己"乃是对于自身德性生命的修治完善,"安人"则是以教、养结合的方式安定自身之外的他人."修己"与"安人"之间构成了一种体用关系,即君子"修己"而明其体,"安人"而达其用."敬"之工夫是"修己以安人"的实践路径,"修己以敬"乃是以工夫而明本体,"修己以安人"则是由本体而见效用.君子敬修笃实、工夫深厚,自然臻至百姓安定、天下均平,并非于"修己"之外别有"安人".学人唯有将"修己"作为君子之道的根本,方能正确把握儒家学说之精神主旨.
Abstract
"Self-cultivation to pacify others"is generally used to summarize the spiritual essence of Confucianism,but the different interpretations of this article by commentators in different dynasties have obscured the spiritual essence of Confucianism.Through a comprehensive use of textual exegesis,text structure analysis,semantic relationship analysis,and theoretical context carding,in-depth exploration of the text of the Analects of Confucius reveals that"self-cultivation"refers to the cultivation and improvement of one's own moral life,while"pacifying others"refers to pacifying others outside oneself through a combination of education and nurturing.A relationship of"Ti"(体)and"Yong"(用)exists between"self-cultivation"and"pacifying others".A gentleman cultivates himself to understand the"Ti"(体),and pacify others to achieve the"Yong"(用)."Respect"is the practical path of"Self-cultivation to pacify others"."Self-cultivation to respect"is to understand the"Ti"(体)through'Gongfu'(工夫)."Self-cultivation to pacify others"is to see the"Yong"(用)through the"Ti"(体).The gentleman's respectful cultivation and deep practice naturally lead to the stability of the people and the equality of the world,rather than having"pacifying others"in addition to"self-cultivation".Only by taking"self-cultivation"as the fundamental principle of gentleman's way can scholars correctly grasp the spiritual essence of Confucianism.
