摘要

程颐对艮卦卦辞与对《彖传》的疏解略不相同,其解卦辞,释"艮其背"为止于人"所不见"之地,以其"不交于物",使人不被欲望牵引,所论是学者之工夫;而解《彖传》,则称"止各当其所",讲的则是学问存养工夫之后的效验.朱子接受程颐对艮卦《彖传》的解读,但不认可他对卦辞的解读.在朱子看来,艮之止乃止于"当止"之所,而非不接于外物.朱子将"外物不接"之意大而化之,换作非严格意义之"非礼勿视听言动"来弥缝程朱之间的异读.相较而言,朱子更能接受程颢的说法,即只要依理而行,则不受物我羁绊,所谓"廓然而大公,物来而顺应",如此"外物不接"之说自然就被取消了.

Abstract

Cheng Yi's interpretation of hexagrams statements is slightly different from that of Tuanzhuan.In his interpretation of Tuanzhuan,he interpreted"Gen Qi Bei"as stopping at the place where one does not see,so that one will not be drawn by desires.The interpretation of Tuanzhuan,on the other hand,suggests that one should stop at the place where one should stop.Zhu Xi could accept Cheng Yi's interpretation of the Tuanzhuan,but not his interpretation of the hexagrams statements.In Zhu Xi's view,the stopping of Hexagram Gen is to stop at the place where one stops,not to refrain from connecting to external objects.Zhu Xi generalized the meaning of Cheng Yi's"not being connected to the outside world"and replaced it with the non-strict meaning of"do not see,hear,speak,or move without etiquette"to bridge the gap between Cheng Yi's and Zhu Xi's different interpretations.In contrast,Zhu Xi was more receptive to Cheng Hao's view that as long as one's behavior conformed to Li,one would not be bound by the difference between the object and the self,and so the importance of"not being connected to the outside world"would naturally diminish.
