Analysis of data on oral healthcare services and quality safety in Gansu Province under the perspective of quality control
Objective To analyze the current status of medical services and quality safety in Gansu provincial dental institutions of 2018,2019,2021.based on relevant indicators of outpatient and inpatient services,in or-der to provide data support for the development of dental healthcare in Gansu.Methods Based on the"Na-tional Medical Service and Quality Safety Report-Stomatology Fascicule"from 2019 to 2022,a longitudi-nal descriptive analysis was conducted on the changes in key disease types,average treatment visits for key technologies,and some related indicators of single-diseases in Gansu's dental outpatient and inpatient servic-es.Results In 2018,2019,2021.the average annual number of visits for key disease types in Gansu's dental outpatient services showed a downward trend.Compared with the national average,Gansu's average annual number of visits for 10 key disease types remained at a relatively low level,with the average annual number of visits for multiple key disease types significantly lower than the national level(P<0.05).In 2018,2019,2021,the overall average annual number of visits for 9 key technologies in Gansu basically remained un-changed,with the average annual number of visits for root canal treatment,periodontal scaling,impacted tooth extraction,removable partial denture prosthetic technology,systemic treatment of chronic periodontitis and implant placement significantly lower than the national level(P<0.05).The average discharge cases of oral and maxillofacial space infections and average hospitalization costs for maxillary fractures in Gansu were significantly higher than the national level(P<0.05).The average length of stay and average hospitalization costs for parotid tumor resection plus facial nerve dissection in Gansu were slightly higher than the national level,but the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion The volume of medical services in outpatient dental clinics in Gansu Province needs to be further improved;the average length of stay and average hospitalization costs for key surgeries of dental inpatients in Gansu Province to be further reduced.
