Progress in the application of artificial intelligence in ultrasound diagnosis of thyroid nodules and prediction of cervical lymph node metastasis in thyroid cancer
Ultrasound is the preferred imaging method for differentiating between benign and malignant thy-roid nodules due to its convenience,non-invasiveness,and real-time capability.However,it involves a certain level of operator subjectivity.In recent years,with the continuous development of artificial intelligence tech-nology,significant progress has been made in its use for assisting in the diagnosis of thyroid nodules,as well as in predicting cervical lymph node metastasis in thyroid cancer.Artificial intelligence can partially over-come operator dependency in ultrasound diagnosis,thereby improving diagnostic accuracy.This article re-views the advances in the application of artificial intelligence in the ultrasound diagnosis of thyroid nodules and the prediction of cervical lymph node metastasis in thyroid cancer.
