Objective To investigate the effect of the reconstruction of dorsal carpal ligament with suture bone anchor in the treatment of fracture and dislocation of wrist joint. Methods The 45 patients with fractures and dislocations of wrist joints were divided into observation group(20 cases were treated with reconstruction of the dorsal carpal ligament using suture bone anchors)and control group(25 cases were treated with direct suture of the dorsal carpal ligament),according to different treatment methods. The intraoperative bleeding volume, operation time, the swelling rate of the effected limbs, pain VAS,wrist range of motion were recorded in the the two groups.Cooney scoring system was used to evaluate clinical efficacy. Results All patients were followed up for 12~24 months. There were statistical differ-ences in the intraoperative bleeding volume, operation time between two groups(P>0.05).At 2 months postopera-tion,the swelling rate of the effected limbs, pain VAS of the observation group were both lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).At 12 months postoperation, the wrist ranges of motion in the observation group were all larger than the control group(P<0.01);and the excellent-good rate evaluated with Cooney scoring system in the observation group was higher than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusions Reconstruction of dorsal carpal ligament injury with suture bone anchor is an effective treatment method for fracture and dislocation of wrist joint.
