Objective To investigate the efficacy of antibiotic loaded bone cement in the treatment of infected deep ulcer of diabetes foot. Methods Antibiotic loaded bone cement was implanted in 20 patients with infected deep ulcer of diabetes feet. The growth of granulation and wound healing were observed, and the healing time of the ulcer was re-corded.Results All patients were followed up for 8~12 months. The 16 cases were performed with single debride-ment surgery and antibiotic loaded bone cement implantation;4 cases were suffered from large and deep ulcer area and poor overall nutritional status, under the premise of strengthening supportive treatment, who were treated with seconda-ry debridement surgery and antibiotic loaded bone cement implantation. At 3 weeks postoperation, after removing the antibiotic loaded bone cement, local infection of 20 patients were all controlled, and feet swelling significantly subsi-ded,fresh granulation grew well. After in situ suturing(7 cases),skin grafting(4 cases),skin flap transfer covering(3 cases),and multiple dressing changes(6 cases),all ulcer wounds healed and lasted for 35~72 d.Conclusions An-tibiotic loaded bone cement implantation can effectively treat infected deep ulcer of diabetes foot, and which is more conducive to wound healing, with satisfactory effect.
