Objective To compare the therapeutic effects of internal fixation with loop plate and clavicular hook plate for treatment of acromioclavicular dislocation. Methods The 60 patients with acromioclavicular dislocation were di-vided into the loop plate group(treated with loop plate internal fixation,30 cases)and the clavicular hook plate group(treated with clavicular hook plate internal fixation,30 cases)based on different internal fixation methods. The shoul-der joint mobility, pain VAS and occurrence of complications were compared between the two groups. The clinical effi-cacy was evaluated by using Constant-Murley score of the shoulder joint. Results All patients were followed up for 12~15(13.16±0.98)months.The shoulder joint activity ranges of abduction, anterior flexion, external rotation, and internal rotation:at 1 month postoperatively, they were all greater in loop plate group than those in the clavicular hook plate group(P<0.01);however,there were no statistical differences between the two groups at 12 months postopera-tively(P>0.05).The pain VAS and Constant-Murley score:at 1,12 months postoperatively, the loop plate group were better than those of the clavicular hook plate group(P<0.01).The incidence rate of postoperative complications in the loop plate group was lower than that in the clavicular hook plate group(P<0.05).Conclusions Compared with clavicular hook plate internal fixation, loop plate internal fixation in the treatment of acromioclavicular dislocation has the advantages of better recovery of shoulder joint function and fewer postoperative complications.
