Objective To compare the efficacy of femoral neck system(FNS)and cannulated compression screw(CCS)for treatment of femoral neck fracture. Methods The 71 patients with femoral neck fractures were divided in-to FNS group(FNS internal fixation treatment,39 cases)and CCS group(CCS internal fixation treatment,32 cases)according to different internal fixation methods. The operation status, fracture healing time,Harris scores of postopera-tive 12 months and incidence rate of postoperative complications were compared between the two groups. Results All patients were followed up for 12~30 months.Intraoperative fluoroscopy frequency and partial weight-bearing time of loading in FNS group were less(shorter)than those in CCS group(P<0.01),hospitalization costs in FNS group were higher than CCS group(P<0.01),and there were no statistical differences in operation time and hospital stay be-tween the two groups(P>0.05).The fracture healing time of FNS group was shorter than that of CCS group(P<0.05),and the Harris scores of FNS group were better than CCS group at 12 months after surgery(P<0.01).The incidence rate of postoperative complications in FNS group was lower than that in CCS group(P<0.05).Conclusions Compared with CCS internal fixation,FNS internal fixation in the treatment of femoral neck fracture has the advanta-ges of fewer intraoperative fluoroscopy frequency, earlier partial weight-bearing,faster fracture healing and fewer post-operative complications, while the treatment cost is relatively high.
