Objective To investigate the short-term effect of cannulated screw combined with medial support plate in the treatment of young and middle-aged Pauwels type Ⅲ femoral neck fracture.Methods According to different methods of internal fixation,27 young and middle-aged patients with Pauwels type Ⅲ femoral neck fractures were di-vided into observation group(12 cases were treated with cannulated screw combined with medial support plate)and control group(15 cases were treated with 3 cannulated screw).Operation situation,fracture healing,Garden index,Harris score and complication incidence were compared between the two groups.Results All patients were followed up for 18~24 months.The intraoperative blood loss volume and operation time in the observation group were more(longer)than those in the control group(P<0.01).Fracture healing time in observation group was shorter than that in control group(P<0.01).Garden index measured on the X-ray film:which had no statistical difference between the two groups at 3 d after surgery(P>0.05),and the observation group was higher than the control group at 6 months after surgery(P<0.05).At 6,12 months after operation,Harris score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).The complication incidence of the observation group was lower than that of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusions In the treatment of middle-aged and young patients with Pauwels type Ⅲ femoral neck fracture,the cannulated screw combined with medial femoral support plate have the advantages of short fracture healing time,high quality of fracture reduction,and good recovery of hip function,stable firm fixation,better compres-sion effect based on the anti-rotation,with fewer complications and good short-term effect.
