Clinical effect and safety of Danggui Niantong decoction in the treatment of acute gouty arthritis
Objective To observe the clinical effect and safety of Danggui Niantong decoction in the treatment of acute gouty arthritis.Methods A total of 63 patients with acute gouty arthritis admitted to Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture Chinese Medicine Hospital from May 2021 to April 2023 were selected and divided into the study group(32 cases)and the control group(31 cases)according to the random number table method.The control group was treated with conventional west-ern medicine,and the study group was treated with Danggui Niantong decoction on the basis of the control group.The curative effect,TCM syndrome score,serum CRP level,ESR,VAS score,WOMAC score,ODI score before and after treatment,and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups after continuous treatment for 1 week.Results The total effective rate of the study group was 93.75％,which was higher than 70.97％of the control group(x2=5.671,P=0.017).After 1 week of treatment,the scores of skin redness,local skin temperature,joint swelling and joint pain in the two groups were lower than those before treatment,and the study group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.01).The levels of serum CRP and ESR in the two groups were lower than those before treatment,and the study group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.01).The VAS,WOMAC and ODI scores of the two groups were lower than those before treatment,and the study group were lower than those of the control group(P＜0.01).There was no significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions between the study group and the control group(0 vs.3.23％,P=0.987).Conclusion Danggui Niantong decoction is effective in the treatment of acute gouty arthritis,which can effectively relieve clinical symptoms,down-regulate serum inflammatory factors,improve pain and disease severity,and has fewer adverse reactions.
