Clinical effect of Gushukang capsules combined with alendronate sodium and metformin in the treatment of osteopo-rosis complicated with type 2 diabetes mellitus
Objective To observe the clinical effect of Gushukang capsules combined with alendronate sodium and metformin in the treatment of osteoporosis combined with type 2 diabetes mellitus.Methods A total of 48 female patients with osteoporosis and type 2 diabetes mellitus who were treated in the First Affiliated Hospital of Gannan Medical University from January to December 2024 were selected and divided into the combined group and the control group according to the ran-dom number table method,with 24 cases in each group.Both groups were given lifestyle intervention,calcium,vitamin D and acarbose treatment,the control group was treated with alendronate sodium and metformin on the basis of the treatment,and the combined group was treated with Gushukang capsules on the basis of the control group.Both groups were treated for 6 months.The blood glucose indexes(FPG,2 hPG,HbA1c)and bone metabolism indexes(PⅠNP,β-CTx)before treatment and 3,6 months after treatment,and bone mineral density before treatment and after 6 months of treatment were compared between the two groups.Results After 3 and 6 months of treatment,the levels of FPG,2 hPG and HbA1c in the two groups were lower than those before treatment(P＜0.05),and there were no significant differences between the two groups(P＞0.05).After 3 months of treatment,the levels of serum PⅠNP and β-CTx in the two groups were lower than those before treatment,and the level of PⅠNP in the combined group was lower than that in the control group(P＜0.05),and there was no significant difference in the level of β-CTx between the two groups(P＞0.05).After 6 months of treatment,the serum levels of PⅠNP and β-CTx in the two groups were lower than those before treatment and 3 months of treatment,and those in the combined group were lower than those in the control group during the same period(P＜0.05).After 6 months of treatment,the bone mineral density of left femoral neck and 1st to 4th lumbar vertebrae in the two groups were higher than those before treatment,and those in the combined group were higher than those in the control group(P＜0.05 or P＜0.01).Conclusion The clinical effect of Gushukang capsules combined with alendronate sodium and metformin in the treatment of osteoporosis combined with type 2 diabetes is better,which is beneficial to control blood glucose,improve bone metabolism,and increase bone mineral density.
