Interference Factors in the Determination of Dehydroabietic Acid Content in Disproportionated Rosin by UV Spectrophotometry
The interference factors for the determination method of dehydroabietic acid(DA)in disproportionated rosin(DR)by UV spectrophotometry were investigated in detail using liquid chromatography, preparative liquid chromatography and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. The results showed that there are two main interference substances in five purchased samples produced from different provinces.Further identification determined that interference substance one was 6,8,11,13-abietatetraenoic acid(ATA),and the other was a mixture main containing mainly dehydroabietal(D)and abietic acid(AA).The spectral data were analyzed using the second-order derivative spectrophotometric and partial least squares(PLS)method to eliminate the interference for the UV spectrophotometry determination method of dehydroabietic acid. The results indicated that PLS method had smaller error value than the second-order derivative spectrophotometric method and could eliminate multiple interference factors simultaneously, which made the test results closer to the actual values.
