Chemical Components and Bioactivity of Qi-nan Agarwood Essential Oils
In this paper, the essential oils of common agarwood and Qi-nan agarwood extracted by hydro-distillation in the lab and the essential oils of Qi-nan agarwood purchased by different extraction methods in the market were taken as the research objects to analyze the chemical components and bioactivity of agarwood essential oils from a new germplasm of Aquilaria sinensis. The main chemical components were analyzed by GC-MS and the contents of main 2-(2-phenylethyl)chromones(PECs)were determined by HPLC.The main components with antioxidant activity and tyrosinase inhibitory activity in essential oil were identified with two dimensional-thin layer chromatography-effect directed functional analysis(2D-TLC-EDA)combined with liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry(LC-MS/MS).The results showed that besides sesquiterpenoids and aromatic compounds, the agarwood essential oils from different extraction methods also contained 2-(2-phenethyl)chromones.The contents of the main 2-(2-phenylethyl)chromone compounds were related to the extraction methods, and the content of the essential oil extracted by hydro-distillation were the lowest with a mass fraction of 0.57%-2.88%,while they were higher with a mass fraction of 14.13%-86.59%in essential oil extracted by supercritical fluid extraction. The increase in the contents of chromones led to an increase in the density of the essential oil.2-(2-(3-hydroxy-4-methoxyphenyl)ethyl)chromone had DPPH free radical(DPPH·)scavenging ability, and 2-(2-phenylethyl)chromone and 2-(2-(4-methoxyphenyl)ethyl)chromone possessed tyrosinase inhibitory activity.
