Comparative analysis of equivalent dose of antipsychotic drugs in schizophrenic patients of different sexes and ages
Objective:To explore the difference of equivalent dose of antipsychotic drugs in schizophren-ic patients of different sexes and ages.Method:1 552 inpatients with schizophrenia were retrospectively in-vestigated and analyzed.According to the antipsychotic drugs taken, the equivalent dose was converted, and the difference of equivalent dose of antipsychotic drugs in terms of gender and age was analyzed. Results:The re-sults of gender grouping showed that the effective dose of risperidone group, combination drug group, and clozap-ine group in female schizophrenic patients were(10.53±2.57)mg,(18.45±7.08)mg,and(6.54±2.58)mg,respectively,significantly lower than those in male schizophrenic patients(P<0.01 or P<0.05).The re-sults of age grouping showed that the effective dose of 55~66 years was the lowest, and the dosage of male pa-tients aged 16~55 years was significantly higher than that of female patients, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.001 or P =0.001).Conclusion:Sex and age may influence the dosage of antipsychotic drugs in schizophrenic patients.
