Diagnostic and statistical manual of mental disorders, fifth edition expert questionnaire survey of bipolar disorder with mixed features
Objective:To evaluate the attitudes and opinions of our psychiatrists regarding the《Diagnos-tic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders》,fifth edition bipolar disorder with mixed features and its clinical applicability.Method:A web-based questionnaire was used to survey 214 psychiatry-related medical profes-sionals and to summarize expert recommendations for analysis. Results:The results show that most experts af-firm the establishment of the mixed features, which has different implications especially for depressive disorders. However, the finding showed that the percentage of those who considered it reasonable to classify manic episode symptoms(50%)and depressive symptoms(63.55%)as reverse symptoms with mixed features symptoms is low.On the depressive background, irritability, agitation, impulsivity, thinking too much, and overly sensitivity to the outside world were common, and on the manic background,self-harm,self-blame,and low self-esteem were more common. Conclusion:The combination of opposite symptoms together may result in new symptoms due to mutual modification, rather than a simple combination of two opposite symptoms.
