Influencing factors for long-term hospitalization in patients with schizophrenia
Objective:To analyze the influencing factors of long-term hospitalization in patients with schizophrenia.Method:318 patients with schizophrenia in our hospital were selected and divided into long-term hospitalization group(average≥10 months/year)and control group(average<10 months/year)accord-ing to the length of hospital stay.Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were carried out to i-dentify the independent factors that influence long-term hospitalization in patients with schizophrenia.Based on the results of logistic regression analysis,a predictive nomogram was constructed, and subsequent internal valida-tion was conducted. Results:Of 318 patients with schizophrenia,126 cases, accounting for 39.62%,experi-enced long-term hospitalization. The results of multivariate logistic regression analysis demonstrated that several factors were independently associated with long-term hospitalization in patients with schizophrenia. These factors included age, duration of illness, working in a civilian government job, marital status(being married),educa-tional level(college degree or above),caregiver status(parents, spouses,or children),medical insurance re-sources(provincial or municipal coverage)and having a disability certificate due to mental illness. The predic-tive nomogram was developed, incorporating the aforementioned eight factors(all P<0.05).The internal valida-tion showed that C-index was 0.803,indicating a good level of discrimination. Conclusion:Age,duration of illness, occupation, marital status, educational level, caregiver, and payment method are independent factors that affect the long-term hospitalization of schizophrenic patients.Constructing a nomographic prediction model based on the above factors can effectively predict the long-term hospitalization probability of schizophrenic patients.
