Analysis of fever causes in electroconvulsive therapy
Non-convulsive electroconvulsive therapy(MECT)is the preferred modality for treating refrac-tory major depression, bipolar affective disorder, and refractory schizophrenia, among other psychiatric disor-ders.However,it frequently elicits adverse reactions, with fever related to electroconvulsive therapy(ECT)seldom addressed.Nonetheless, clinical occurrences of fever during MECT are common. This paper analyzes the etiology of fever in MECT,aiming to elucidate its underlying causes and propose targeted therapeutic inter-ventions.
