Effect of escitalopram combined group mindfulness-based stress reduction and group cognitive behav-ioral therapy in patients with generalized anxiety disorder
Objective:To investigate the effect of Group Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction(MBSR)+escitalopram and Group Cognitive Behavior Therapy(CBT)+escitalopram on anxiety and depressive symptoms in patients with Generalized Anxiety Disorder(GAD).Method:According to the entry criteria,78 patients with GAD admitted to our hospital from October 2019 to October 2021 were randomly divided into MBSR group(43 patients)and CBT group(35 patients)by numbering method.MBSR:escitalopram+8 weeks of group MB-SR;CBT:escitalopram+8 weeks of group CBT.Hamilton Anxiety Scale(HAMA)and Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD)were evaluated and analyzed at baseline(T0),8 weeks(T1),and 3 months after the end of interven-tion(T2).Results:A total of 63 cases were completed in two groups,36 participants in the MBSR group and 27 participants in the CBT group completed the task. There were no differences in HAMA and HAMD at T0 be-tween the 2 groups. At T1 and T2,HAMA and HAMD scores in 2 groups were significantly lower than those at T0(all P<0.05),but there were no significant differences in the 2 groups at T1 and T2.Conclusion:Esc-citalopram combined with group MBSR or group CBT can significantly improve anxiety and depression in GAD patients, and they are continuously effective.
