Study on the efficacy and cognitive function of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation therapy com-bined with sertraline in the treatment of depression
Objective:To explore the efficacy of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation(rTMS)combined with sertraline in the treatment of depression and the improvement of cognitive function.Method:Eighty patients with depressive disorder were randomly divided into two groups on the basis of antidepressant treatment with sertraline(effective blood concentration range10.0-150.0 ng/ml).The study group was trea-ted with low frequency rTMS(right dorsolateral prefrontal lobe, stimulation intensity 80%-100%,stimulation frequency 1 Hz,pulse number more than 2000),while the control group was treated with sham stimulation for 4 weeks. The efficacy and safety of treatment were evaluated by comparing the scores of Hamilton Depression scale 24 items(HAMD-24),Perceived Deficit Questionnaire for Depression(PDQ-D),digit Span Test(DST),Clinical Global impression scale(CGI)and Treatment Emergent Symptom Scale(TESS)before and after treat-ment.Results:At the end of the 2nd and 4th week after treatment, the scores of HAMD-24 and PDQ-D in both groups were significantly lower than those before treatment(all P<0.05),while the DST score and CGI score were significantly higher than that before treatment(all P<0.05).Conclusion:The efficacy of rTMS combined with sertraline in the treatment of depression is more effective than that of antidepressants alone, and the onset time is relatively faster, which can effectively and safely improve the clinical symptoms and cognitive function of patients with depression.
